Pumpkin Donuts

with spiced maple cream cheese frosting

Gather the donut ingredients - * Flour * Brown sugar * Pumpkin pie spice * Baking powder * Egg * Pumpkin puree * Vegetable oil * Vanilla extract * Milk

– In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and baking powder. – In another bowl, whisk together the egg, pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry and whisk just until no large lumps remain.

Divide the batter between the wells of the donut pan.  I add about 2 tablespoons of batter per donut.

– Bake for 14-16 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. – Transfer the donuts to a wire rack to cool.

Gather the frosting ingredients - * Pumpkin pie spice * Vanilla extract * Cream cheese * Powdered sugar

– In a small bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, maple syrup, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth. – Then add the powdered sugar slowly until no lumps remain.

Dip the cooled donuts in the icing and enjoy.

Store any leftover donuts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
