Chai Scones
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, loose tea, and butter.
Using a pastry cutter or food processor, work in the butter until pea-sized crumbs form.
Add in cream, vanilla extract, and egg. Mix until dough comes together.
Transfer dough to a well-floured surface and form the dough into a circle that is 1" thick.
Sprinkle the top of the dough with cinnamon sugar.
Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into 6-8 wedges.
– Place the scones in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. – Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon mat. – Place the scones in the oven and cook for 18-23 minutes or until they are golden brown and the edges are all cooked through.
