Gather the ingredients - * Pie crust * Butter * Granulated sugar * Brown sugar * Eggs * Vanilla extract * Cocoa powder * Flour * Salt * Chocolate chips
Line the inside of the pie pan with parchment paper, then add pie weights and bake the pie shell for 15 minutes.
Remove pie shell from oven and carefully remove the weights and parchment. Allow to cool on a wire rack and drop the oven temperature to 350 degrees F.
Prepare the brownie filling by stirring together the melted butter, sugar, and brown sugar.
Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract, followed by the cocoa powder, flour, and salt.
Fold in the chocolate chips and then transfer to the prepared pie shell (it can still be warm).
- Bake in oven for 30-35 minutes. - Allow to cool before slicing and serving with ice cream (optional).
