Slow Cooker Glazed Carrots

I can’t believe that it’s already time for Thanksgiving recipes! I don’t think I had a single side dish recipe on my site until this brown sugar slow cooker glazed carrots recipe! This is so perfect for not just Thanksgiving but also Christmas, Easter, or any holiday feast.  The best part is that you just need to pop a few ingredients in a crock pot and just forget about it until it’s time to serve dinner.  These carrots don’t take up any valuable stove top or oven room which is crucial when you are making a big meal for a crowd!

I whipped up these slow cooker carrots to go with a steak dinner a few days back and they paired so perfectly with the garlic mashed potatoes and steak! The brown sugar glazed carrots add just the right amount of sweetness to a meal and are so delicious! Glazed carrots are just such a simple way to take plain carrots and just make them the star of show with just a little work and a few ingredients!

Common Questions About Making Glazed Carrots

How can I made glazed carrots?

Glazed carrots can be made over the stovetop, in a slow cooker, or in an Instant Pot.  This recipe is for cooking them in a crock pot and you use baby carrots, salt, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

What kind of glazes can I make for carrots?

The most popular glazes are normally brown sugar, honey, or maple.  This recipe is a brown sugar based glaze.

Do I have to use baby carrots?

No, you can use full sized carrots sliced up into 1/2″ thick disks instead.

Can I make glazed carrots ahead of time?

Yes! Glazed carrots heat up really well in a pan on the stove or even in the microwave so feel free to cook them ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to serve.

You can serve ham with just about anything but if you are serving it for the holidays, here are some of my favorite dishes to serve them with –

  • Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

The carrots look just delicious – perfectly candied and so amazing! I never would have thought to use a slow cooker either. Oven space is always such a premium during the holidays. What a great recipe!
