Boozy Peppermint Truffles – A delicious treat made with just 4 simple ingredients – chocolate, peppermint schnapps, butter, and heavy cream! Perfect for any holiday party!
Boozy Peppermint Truffles
I am the self-proclaimed “queen of truffles”. I have made a huge variety of them over the years that I think they have basically become “my thing” to bring to holiday parties. The truffle that disappears the fastest at holiday parties has to be these boozy peppermint truffles. They have chocolate, peppermint, and booze. What could be better than that?!
These truffles are great because they are no bake and can be made ahead of time and either frozen or stored in the fridge until ready to serve. In terms of decorating, I usually just coat them in chocolate and then top them with a bit of crushed candy canes but you can also roll them in cocoa powder, sprinkles, or just leave them as is. Totally up to you!
Common Questions About Making Boozy Peppermint Truffles
What are boozy peppermint truffles?
Boozy peppermint truffles are a no bake treat made by pouring warm heavy cream over chocolate and butter to melt them and form a ganache. You then add in peppermint schnapps and then let set in the fridge for 2 hours before forming into balls and coating with melted chocolate (optional).
Is this a no bake recipe?
Yes! No baking is involved in this recipe.
How many servings does this recipe make?
This recipe makes 30 truffles.
How long do these truffles last?
These truffles last up to three days when refrigerated but longer if they are frozen.

Yes! Just use 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract. Peppermint extract is really strong so I suggest tasting the ganache to make sure you are happy with the balance of peppermint to chocolate.
Can I use white chocolate instead of chocolate?
You sure can! If you go that route, try to use a good quality white chocolate like Ghiradelli, it makes a difference in terms of taste. You could also just coat the truffles in melted white chocolate.
What other types of truffles can I make?
I have some many varieties of truffles on my site but some of my personal favorites include –
Ingredient Notes –
- Heavy cream must be used to make truffles as they won’t set with lower fat milks.
- I’m using Ghiradelli bittersweet chocolate but any good quality chocolate will work in this recipe.
- Butter adds richness and creaminess to the truffles but it is optional – you could also use coconut oil if you prefer.
- Peppermint schnapps makes these truffles a bit boozy and gives delicious peppermint flavor.
